All April Vacation classes meet Tuesday-Friday. The BAC will be closed on Monday, 4/15.

ARTVENTURES: ART OF ANCIENT EGYPT  |  Ages 5-7 & 8-11

9:00am-4:00pm  |  Teacher: Emily Iannarilli and Mabel Albert

Our ArtVentures program for children blends fun with learning through a balance of structured projects, creative expression and play. We promote artistic exploration while developing technique and critical-thinking skills. Each theme is explored through a variety of mediums and imaginative projects. Students have three breaks during the day to explore our beautiful park, play on the connecting playground or participate in games with their peers. Our weekly programs culminate in a mini art show designed to showcase and celebrate each child’s artistic accomplishments.

*5 year olds must be enrolled in kindergarten.

 

ART OF ANCIENT EGYPT: Take a trip back in time to bygone Egyptian kingdoms and dynasties! Learn about famous pharaohs and queens, early cities on the Nile and Egyptian Afterlife mythology. Projects include pyramid pencil-holders, scroll paintings, bust sculptures and more.

 
 

POTTERY & WHEELTHROWING INTENSIVE 

Ages 10-12

Ages 13-17

This hands on pottery program introduces students to wheelthrowing and handbuilding fundamentals. Explore your creativity while learning techniques for creating your own mugs, bowls and other unique pieces! The 9:00am-2:00pm class will break for a 30 minute lunch and one snack break. 

 

 

JEWELRY AND METALS INTENSIVE | Ages 12-17

Students gain hands on knowledge of jewelry making and metalsmithing techniques including soldering, piercing, etching and embellishing in copper, nickel and brass. The 9:00am-2:00pm class will break for a 30 minute lunch and one snack break.

 


PRINTMAKING AND MIXED MEDIA INTENSIVE | AGES 13-17

9:00am-2:00pm | Teacher: Leonie Little-Lex

Class Fee: $255, Materials: $25

 

Take your prints to the next level in this innovative, technique-based intensive! This intensive will cover traditional printmaking methods, including monotypes and linoleum block printing, along with more contemporary mixed-media techniques. Be inspired to combine several types of media with your prints such as sewing, drawing, gel mediums, photo transfers and more for a unique array of possibilities!
