Crafts Showcase
The Brookline Arts Center will present its 34th annual Crafts Showcase from December 3 through December 21, 2008. During this time, the public will be able to view and purchase handmade crafts from artisans across the country, finding unique gifts for the holiday season.
Approximately 80-100 craftspeople will exhibit at this year's Crafts Showcase, all hand-selected by a jury of artists, collectors and designers with the Brookline Arts Center. Merchandise at the Crafts Showcase will include jewelry, glassware, ceramics, Christmas ornaments and Hanukkah items, kitchenware, clothing and many more gift items.
Crafts Showcase is open from Thursdays to Sundays during the three weeks of the show from noon to 6 pm, and until 8 pm on Thursday nights. Admission is free during regular Showcase hours.

aTTempted gallery
The Brookline Arts Center welcomes Brookline Council for the Arts and Humanities annual Attempted Gallery event. For one evening only, Saturday, January 26, 2008, from 7:00 - 10:00pm the Brookline Arts Center will host this giant group exhibition of over 40 local artists. Attempted Gallery is a wonderful FREE community event where viewers can enjoy a sample of Brookline’s fine artists.

La Primavera Encantada
On Saturday, May 3, 2008 from 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. the Brookline Arts Center will offer an evening of music and dance with Latin jazz, salsa and more by the Ten Tumbao ensemble. Also featuring a tasting menu with ca Latin flair, special guest artist Raul Gonzalez, a silent auction, and a special house cocktail to get you in the mood for fun.
This event will raise funds to eto bring high-quality and affordable art education to local children.

2008 Open Studios
April 12-13, 11:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. with an Opening Party on Friday, April 11 from 6 to 8 p.m.
The Arts Center will fill its building with art by faculty members Judith Ann Bell, Sarah Cunningham, Sue Funk, Sarahw Gaw, Peg Kane, Jenn Sherr, Wendy Soneson, Anne Steinman, Alison Wells and the ArtReach senior students. Start your Open Studios weekend with a visit to our galleries, stop and see an art demonstration, and enjoy the playground in beautiful Monmouth Park!

Gadsby Awards
May 28 - June 4, 2008
See the artists of the future in this exhibition of Patrica M. Gadsby Award honorees. We honor the memory of an important community arts activist with awards to Brookline Public School students for their achievements in the visual arts. See photos from the inspiring event at flicker.
