The Exposure Project- Book Release Party

[back to Exhibitions]

Thursday, July 26, 2007 from 6:30 to 8:30

Adam Marcinek, Anastasia Cazabon, Eric Watts, and Ben Alper are trying to figure out how to make a living as professional artists. Though their work was included in a number of exhibitions around Boston, they knew that the next step was to reach the public on a more consistent basis. This was the genesis of The Exposure Project, a pocket-sized book featuring new work by themselves and other emerging art photographers whose work they admire.

The second issue of The Exposure Project is at the printer now, and will be go on sale at a Book Release Party at the Brookline Arts Center on Thursday, July 26, 2007 from 6:30 to 8:30. Admission is free.

The party crowd will be there to celebrate the accomplishments that come when inspiration is combined with a hard-headed entrepreneurial approach, “We are publishing in order to engage a greater audience,” according to group member Adam Marcinek. “As a group, our small voice speaks with more resonance.”

Since they began publishing The Exposure Project series, the group has been seen in a number of local exhibitions: for example, Anastasia Cazabon’s work is being featured at the Photographic Resource Center and Adam Marcinek is now represented by Jule’s Place in the South End.

The book release celebration is part of a continuing series of casual discussions for photographers at the Brookline Arts Center. Professionals, amateurs and anyone interested in photography are welcome. A number of works by the artists of The Exposure Project will be on exhibition during the event. To keep the discussion going the Exposure Project is writing a Blog on them and the photography around town.
